September 14, 2007, Newsletter Issue #80: Protecting Your Product with Packaging Equipment

Tip of the Week

BeaconTechnology.com Tip: You spend countless hours and energy making your product perfect. Then it leaves your facility and if it’s not properly protected, your control over its quality comes to an end.

Packaging equipment and shipping supplies, such as stretch wrap machines -- devices that tightly cover and stabilize your product with durable, puncture-resistant film, keeping it from being damaged in transit -- add efficiency to the shipping process. Other products like wrap guns, corner protectors, steel strapping and heat guns add just as much efficiency to shipping operations as do trucks and forklifts, and even bubble wrap. In addition, electric scales that accurately measure products in pounds or grams help save on shipping by accurately measuring what’s being shipped.

Well-packaged goods are easier to load and unload, and likelier to arrive in one piece. Taking time with packaging can reduce the incidence of returned goods and improve employee efficiency by streamlining their workload.
