BeaconTechnology.com Tip: An "instant" ramp is a set of steel ends and rubber "feet" that you attach to two-by-eight boards. This ramp solution is good for loading heavy items such as all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, and other vehicles into vans and trucks, but isn't good for anything heavier than about 1400 pounds. If you need a good, quick, and portable ramp for such loading or unloading (think trade shows, warehouse storage of such vehicles, or other applications) the instant or "insta" ramp is an inexpensive option. Remember that when it comes to heavy items, the word "heavy" refers to something bigger than one person can safely handle alone, rather than the type of equipment. For loading heavy equipment such as forklifts or Bobcats, you'll need a more durable steel yard ramp solution rather than the quick-fix instant ramp option.
